Sorry for the lack of updates. Been busy with a lot lately. The Good news is that this Friday the 13th a new WIS album hits. Entitled The Thing That Goes Bump in the Night, it’s sort of a John Carpenter helps Charles Bernstein make the A Nightmare on Elm Street soundtrack vibe. A couple reviews have hit if you’re interested in reading what some have to say about it.

Of course, October wouldn’t be complete without the WIS regulars. The Horror Soundtrack Mixtapes are back. The Myers and Munster Halloween Bash (Carpenter’s Halloween Theme and The Munsters Theme covers) is back. Lastly, Misfits in Siberia (A Synth Tribute to The Misfits) is back with new addition “Night of the Living Dead” in honor of George A Romero’s passing. As per usual, they’re all completely FREE to download (werewolvesinsiberia.bandcamp.com) so take them and add them to your Halloween playlists.
As a last little bit of info, WIS is on heavy rotation at SCRMRadio.com, an all-horror/sci-fi streaming radio station with tons of content (shows, radio dramas, music, etc.). Give them a listen. A new song was written for 5d-blog.com‘s new YouTube interviews page. Check out the videos to hear “Fifth Dimension”. There’s also a brand new theme for The Monster Guys podcast entitled “Can’t Kill the Beast”. This one is a super-pumped 90’s industrial throwback kind of song. You can hear it on their latest episode.
That’s as much as I can throw at you leading up to the big release on Friday. See you then!
As a follow-up to January’s DeathRace 2000-inspired “Transcontinental Road Race”, Werewolves in Siberia is back with two brand new EPs.
The first EP, entitled “Abyss”, takes you to the depths of the unknown with two new synth-driven tracks. Escape the impending apocalypse of the outside world and get lost in the aquatic atmosphere of the Abyss. It hits for free download Friday, April 14 on the official WIS Bandcamp page.
One week later, April 21, the next EP drops. “In Memoriam” will also be available for free download on the Bandcamp page. With themes for the Monster Guys and Bazaar Cast podcasts, songs inspired by Fangoria and Famous Monsters of Filmland magazines and an 80s-style horror hip hop song inspired by the Ghost Brothers tv show, this EP is more of a tribute to some horror icons and up-and-comers in the horror/paranormal realm. Don’t expect anything less than other WIS releases, though. There’s plenty here to sink your teeth into.
As per usual, a few items have popped up on the bandcamp page for free download for the month of October. The Myers and Munsters Halloween Bash EP is back (featuring the covers of John Carpenter’s Halloween Theme and Jack Marshall’s The Munsters Theme). The collection of Misfits covers are back and so are the DJ-style mixtapes of soundtrack songs. This time around, there are a few additions.
Misfits in Siberia (new title) now features Skulls (as heard first on the 6 Foot Plus podcast). The new goal is to cover a new Misfits song each Halloween to add to this collection.
The Horror Soundtrack Mixtapes also has a new addition. Monsters, Murderers, Haunts and Creeps is the Halloween ’16 mixtape that features more fun stuff than usual but fun stuff with a darker twist. It was originally taken down dude to some weird glitches that showed up with the mixafter upload but those seem to be worked out and it’s back up.
Have a great Halloween!
For good measure, if you’re wondering what bands you should be listening to for Halloween, I did a guest piece on that subject for the Little Miss Trainwreck blog you can check out here.
In celebration of Friday the 13th, I’ve put together a new EP, SLASHER. It’s free, so take it and tell your friends. 100% inspired by 80’s slasher films, especially the F13 franchise.
